Ray Parker’s first appearance as a town crier was in 1989.
As a town crier at large Parker was booked on numerous functions over the years until in 2001 he was declared Official town crier of Nanaimo British Columbia.
In 2005 he retired from his Nanaimo appointment, Remaining as the official town crier of Victoria Magic Circle, a post he has held for 9 years. On his first official participation in a town crier competition in Toronto he won a second prize.
In his last appearance in Anacortes and La Conner, Ray Parker won 2nd prize in both competitions.
